Providing Culturally Sensitive Treatment for Suicidality and Substance Use in the LGBTQ Community 

 

Panel Discussions and Presentations by: 

Keynote Speaker: Ashby Dodge, LCSW, is the Clinical Director at The Trevor Project, a national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people under the age of 25.

Rachel Legend, LCSW, is CEO at Arbour-Fuller Hospital and has devoted her professional life to patient advocacy. Rachel has been recognized by Rhode Island College and the Human Rights Campaign®, the largest LGBT civil rights advocacy group in the U.S., for her work with youth and promoting diversity. 

Drew Bergman is a speaker at the nonprofit organization, Minding Your Mind, based in Rosemont, Pa. Currently a senior at Temple University, he began to experience depression when he was a teenager. He received treatment and overcame his condition and is a 2014 recipient of the Need In Deed Community Partner Award and the 2014 national Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) conference. In January 2016 he was honored for his outstanding contribution to mental health advocacy by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and was the first recipient of its annual Young Friends of the American Federation of Suicide Prevention Award.
