For the Overnight Adventure Camp transportation will not be provided every day to the actual camp location. You will be responsible for providing you own transportation to and from the camp location. You will be assigned to a group that you will be helping for the days that you are available to attend camp. The camp day starts around 9a.m. every morning and ends typically around 5p.m. However we will need some volunteers to stay later for evening activates if you are available. Camp location is at Heartland Camp- 16965 MO-45, Parkville, MO 64152.

Volunteer Orientaion Training Night

July 10th 5p.m.-7p.m.

Learn and grow this year and be a volunteer for Alphapointe. Volunteers provide children with vision loss opportunities to use imagination and creativity in a fun and casual learning environment. Adventure Camp, a week-long overnight camp for children ages 11-18 introduces youth to a variety of traditional outdoor camp experiences, but specifically focuses on particular needs & considerations for youth with vision impairment. Youth from ages 15 and older can be enrolled into a complementary C.I.T. Program (Counselors in Training). Campers are taught outdoor and recreational skills to complement their knowledge of the natural world. Kids will experience cookouts, creative arts, archery, hiking, swimming, a ropes course, horseback riding and zip lining.  Campers will have the opportunity to practice functional, social, mobility, and independent living skills while forming friendships and having fun!  Youth learn fundamental skills that help them learn, play and grow in a camp atmosphere.  Camp helps kids learn independence and social skills to develop into successful adults.
