Using Scrum in Your Organization 2 day seminar in Daytona Beach

Come for two days to learn the essentials of Scrum. Margaret Kulpa and Kent Johnson, internationally known instructors, provide guidance and show the practical application of using Scrum and several other top Agile Methods. Executives, managers, and team members learn Scrum, see why Scrum is the most popular Agile Method, and how Scrum can work for you.

Course Description

The goal of this interactive seminar is to provide a practical introduction of Scrum and how to integrate it into your organization.  You will see why Scrum is the most popular Agile Method.  This seminar goes beyond ScrumMaster Training by including Product Owners, managers, executives, developers, and other team members.  This training is devised to introduce Scrum to you and to offer hints, tricks, and tips for making it work.

Scrum is an iterative, incremental process for development of many kinds of products and services.  Developers like it. Managers like it. Executives like it.  It is highly adaptable.  It can be combined with other development methods. It’s fast, easy, and fun.

Agile Methods discussed include Scrum, eXtreme Programming (XP), and Lean Software Development. Details of Scrum are explored in teams including Scrum roles (Product Owner, ScrumMaster, and Scrum Team), steps performed using Scrum, and Scrum artifacts (including the product backlog, sprint backlog, burndown chart, and the impediment list).

Agile approaches for providing visibility to senior management are discussed, including Agile approaches to measurement, status reporting, and assessments.

Exercises are conducted to identify, estimate, schedule, plan, manage, and track work.  Students will participate in exercises that reinforce Scrum Best Practices, including Planning Poker and Five Finger Decision Making.

Students that have successfully completed our courses have received 14 PDUs (professional development units) approved by PMI (Project Management Institute).
