Whether you’ve strolled beneath the majestic Cypress trees on a stone pathway, enjoyed a festive night on the town, or dined on a patio overlooking the water, the River Walk is much more than just a river. It’s fourteen miles of memories in the making – a place where laughter happens, and families reconnect. Proposals are made, and “I do’s” are said. It’s full of history, culture, celebrations, and stories – its story becomes part of your story. This is the magic of your River Walk.

In 1969, the San Antonio River Walk Association formed to bring fun to the River Walk through over two dozen annual events, most of which are free and open to the public. Our events help you write your stories for memories that last a lifetime. Your annual donation of $35, gives you "Friend of the River Walk" status, and helps us achieve our mission to promote, protect and preserve the River Walk - the heart and soul of San Antonio, celebrating its rich history and legacy – for generations to come. Your support goes towards community enhancement on the River Walk with a portion of the proceeds funding an architectural scholarship for historic preservation.
