MIDDLE SCHOOL TEENPOWER 2023

Youth Resources' TEENPOWER program is a jam-packed conference designed to empower youth to lead drug-free lifestyles while engaging them in leadership development and community service.

Your student can expect to do all of the following:

  • Have tons of fun during large- and small-group activities
  • Engage in life-changing conversations with their peers about what really matters to them
  • Participate in training that motivates them to serve as catalysts for positive change in their own lives and in their communities
  • Plan a prevention service project to complete at their school or in the community
TEENPOWER participants also have the opportunity to build relationships with members of the all-volunteer Youth, College and Adult Staffs who serve as positive role models at TEENPOWER and after the conference ends.

TEENPOWER is the only youth substance abuse prevention conference of its kind in southwestern Indiana. For more information, visit www.youth-resources.org/teenpower.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
These are the basics we feel that families need to know to make a decision registering their child for TEENPOWER 2023. For students who secure a spot at TEENPOWER, we will provide more detailed information about each of the items listed below (and more) later in the process. If you have a concern about COVID-19 and your child's participation in TEENPOWER, please feel free to contact us.

Registration:
  • Our participant capacity at TEENPOWER is typically met within the first evening registration opens.
  • Please plan to register AT 6pm on the appropriate night to give your student the best opportunity to secure a spot, but please know and prepare ahead of time for the potential that your student will be on the waiting list.
  • We will keep a waiting list and will add participants from it if another participant drops their spot or if capacity increases.
  • We will work until the last possible moment prior to TEENPOWER to accommodate as many students as possible.
Roommates:
  • Please list ONE NAME and ONLY ONE NAME on the registration form as your student's preferred roommate.
  • If your preferred roommate is on the waiting list, and we are able to accommodate roommate preferences, we will contact you.
  • Roommate requests are typically not included on the registration form at the high school level in any TEENPOWER year. Please plan that requests will likely not be taken or accomodated at the high school level this year.
At TEENPOWER:
The following will be likely* every day for your student at TEENPOWER
  • Frequent sanitizing and hand washing
  • Frequent temperature checks
  • Extra cleaning by YR's team
*We will communicate clearly with registered families what our protocol will be as June arrives.
