50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

The Joseph Priestley District is 50!  Come to our 50th Anniversary Celebration Friday night.  We will start off with some rousing congregational singing.  We will have a Musical Tribute “Forward Through the Ages” of select hymns from the past.  We will be showing the video “Washington Goes Unitarian” which depicts the growth of our faith in Washington.  We will hear from a panel of religious educators on how our religious education programs have evolved and strengthened Unitarian Universalism.  We will also hear from a panel of other district leaders about the significant events that have occurred in the JPD.  We will conclude with a discussion of the many accomplishments that have taken place within the JPD over our 50 years.  And then we will have a birthday party with cake and ice cream.

INFORMATION ON GATHERED HERE

Gathered Here is a national conversation about the future of the Unitarian Universalist Association.  Gathered Here will give shape to a shared vision for the future of our faith and the ways in which we, as religious leaders, will advance our faith on local and national levels.  Based on Appreciative Inquiry, an approach to organizational change that builds on what’s working rather than trying to fix what’s not, the process will engage you and other UUs, congregations, and groups in conversations that forge new relationships and create new possibilities for the future of Unitarian Universalism.  We will have a two part session with everyone on Saturday morning.  Smaller groups will break out during this time for more intimate conversations about the values of our faith that we want to see carried into the future.
