Cavanal Killer 8K Walk/Run

*Pre-registration deadline extended: Monday, April 25,  2016.  RACE DATE: Saturday, May 14th, 2016

Event is NON-REFUNDABLE!! You may transfer your registration to another individual but  under no circumstance can we refund your fees once you have registered.  If transfer is done before the pre-registration deadline, shirt size can be changed. If after pre-registration deadline, we are not able to change shirt sizes.

The goal of the Cavanal Killer 8k Walk/Run is to promote fitness and Cavanal Hill. This is not a race, although it is chip timed. In 2015, the committee has decided that no trophies will be given, however, every participant will receive a completion medal as they cross the finish line. 

*Early Bird Registration Fee: $25; $30 Late Registration Fee (After April 25, 5:00pm includes postmarked.) Fee includes: registration, T-Shirt, (1) completion medal* and light lunch.  You MUST pre-register by April 25 to receive a t-shirt. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS!   *Medals are not included in packets and will be given to participants as they cross the finish line at the top of the hill.   Participants must have official event bib number on in order to receive medal.

Packet Pick Up:  Packets may be picked up during the day at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center from 9am - 5pm on Wednesday, May 11, Thursday, May 12 & Friday, May 13 or prior to the event on Saturday, May 14. 

Event Tips:  Wear comfortable walking shoes  & clothing; Water will be provided at stations on the way, but participants are encouraged to bring their own.   A light lunch will be provided at the top. Transportation will be provided back down the hill. Runners are asked to start at beginning of line, walkers behind runners, anyone pushing a stroller or slower walkers please line up toward the back.

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION: For the safety of the participants, we ask that you please do not drive personal vehicles to the top of the hill or that you do not call and ask for personal transportation back down the hill.  We will have busses that will be providing transportation from the top back to the Elementary School for both walkers and runners.  For the safety of all involved, we ask that you be aware of traffic and please move to the SAME SIDE  when you see traffic approaching in front or behind you! We apologize for the inconvenience but appreciate your cooperation.

Participants should also understand that walking/running involves risks of injury from falls due to the surface condition of the hill, contact with other participants, and the effects of weather, including heat and/or humidity. THE POTEAU CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, THE CITY OF POTEAU, LEFLORE COUNTY AND ALL THEIR RESPECTIVE EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, VOLUNTEERS AND SPONSORS ARE NOT ASSUMING ANY OBLIGATIONS WITH REGARD TO SUCH RISKS AND SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY ARISING FROM ANY WALKER'S/RUNNER’S PARTICIPATION IN THE ANNUAL WALK/RUN.  I grant permission to all the foregoing to use any photographs, video’s, recordings or any other record or my likeness for any other legitimate purpose.
