SPAWAR/REBOOT Networking Event

Dear Transitioning Service Member and REBOOT graduate, you are invited to attend the below networking event.

SPAWAR in collaboration with National Veterans Transition Services, Inc (aka REBOOT) is sponsoring a Military Networking event to help the REBOOT Graduates and other transitioning service members build their network of contacts with local San Diego businesses as they prepare to transition from active service.

The event has two parts:

The first hour is the panel discussion and the second hour is a networking session.

1000-1100: Panel Discussion

Panel members will have 5-7 minutes to talk about their respective organizations regarding the current business climate/opportunities, and what they are doing regarding Veterans (internships, hires, etc). There will be a Q&A session afterwards.

The panel discussion is designed to:

1) Provide the businesses in the audience with information on what is happening in the local area regarding SPAWAR business opportunities, and how different companies developed their internship programs in case they would like to develop something similar.

2) Provide transitioning service members in the audience with information on what SPAWAR and its commands are all about, what the companies in the defense industry look for in new employees and what they are doing to hire former Service Members.

3) Get feedback from a transitioning Service Member/ Veteran to share their experience during the transition process.

1100 - 1200: Networking

The second hour is designed to provide the attendees with the opportunity to network with the company reps in attendance to:

1) gather additional information on the company,

2) find out about potential employment opportunities, and

3) make contacts in the company so that the attendees have a POC to call when they are ready to seriously start looking for employment if their transition date is outside of 2 months from the date of the event.

Companies Invited: DHS, AFCEA, NDIA, Project Hired, Indus Technology, Booz Allen Hamilton, NBC Universal, SLM Associates, San Diego Site Services, Hunter Pacific Group, Manpower, IntegrITS, Care Fusion, The Patriot Group, Straub Construction, PCL Construction, POGO Inc (employment service), Omni2Max, Lockheed Martin

Attire is business casual and attendees are highly encouraged to bring business cards - resumes are not necessary.

Interested transitioning service members may RSVP online at no later than 10 August 2013 by 1500 if you wish to participate.

Light refreshments will be available.
