Water For People is a non-profit organization that helps support the development of locally sustainable drinking water resources, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education programs in developing countries. Sustainability and community ownership are the hallmarks of Water For People's programs in Africa, Central and South America, and Asia. The funds raised at this event will help Water For People to use water as a catalyst for change by helping people in the developing world address their own basic water and sanitation needs.
The Water Equation provides academic scholarships to undergraduates and graduate students in water related fields and to young and new professionals who want to add to their skill sets. It also provides funding to the Community Engineering Corps. The CEC works in the US providing aid to struggling communities that have subpar water and sanitation facilities. The Water Equation also supports other global outreach efforts in the effort to obtain a better world through better water.
