Ohio Dental Hygienists' Association      98th Annual Session 

Join colleagues from around the state for ODHA's 98th Annual Session as we salute President Shannon Sweeney and welcome the 2021-2022 ODHA Officers and show our appreciation and support for our current leadership.

During this meeting we will select the 2021- 2022 executive leadership and discuss the business of the Association, the issues facing the profession and the future of dental hygiene in Ohio. 

Finally and enthusiastically we  WELCOME Ohio dental hygiene students! We look forward to seeing their informative or research poster presentations and their participation in our business of our Association.

Opening Ceremonies: Come join ODHA President Shannon Sweeney, ODHA Leadership and their special guests as they kick off the weekend! During this session, ODHA Award recipients and Academy of Dental Hygiene Studies Inductees will be honored.

Immediately following Opening Ceremonies, the First House of Delegates kicks off the business of Annual Session. Delegate attendance is required. 

President’s Reception:  Please join ODHA as we celebrate President Shannon Sweeney. Be prepared to “Return to Margaritaville”.  There will be a Southwest buffet dinner and Margaritas at the cash bar.  This is a great opportunity to mingle and have some fun with colleagues and students from across the state.

SATURDAY

A light continental breakfast will be available in The Ohio Event Center Hall

The Candidates Forum offers an opportunity to listen to the platform speeches of ODHA’s 2021-2022 running for office. This is a great opportunity to get to know the candidates better and get your questions answered.

Reference Committees: Open discussion on proposed resolutions and bylaws. Delegate attendance is required.

Legislative Luncheon: Join us for an informative luncheon with our lobbyists from Governmental Policy Group as we will be provided an update.. The O-HY-PAC will be assisting throughout the program as well as taking your donations. Elections for O-HY-PAC will also take place during this luncheon.

Exhibits and Marketplace: Check out a variety of dental and vendor products presented by professional exhibitors, student groups and components.

Poster Session: Come support the Ohio dental hygiene students and listen to their presentations on today’s issues. Be enlightened and inspired by our future RDH’s

Ticket Auction items are to be brought to the exhibit hall for viewing during the exhibit and marketplace hours. The drawings and Student Awards will take place  immediately following this program.

Institute for Oral Health Fundraising Event: Come and enjoy some wine and snacks in support of ADHA’s Institute for Oral Health. Donations will be gladly accepted as we try to reach our goal of $2, 244

Component Discussions

SUNDAY

Coffee and tea service will be available in The Ohio Event Center Hall

Church Service: Rev. Anne H. Missig will officiate Christian Church Service

Student House of Delegates the Ohio students will run their own HOD and elect voting Student Delegates.

Second House of Delegates is the main portion of ODHA’s business meeting, the HOD will review, discuss, vote on PBYs and PRs and conclude business.

Installation of our  President, ODHA Officers and Trustees will occur at the conclusion of the Second HOD.
