Presenting on "PsychEd About Love!"
Course Abstract:
PsychEd About Love is a psycho-educational and experiential course which includes insights from the work and research of Harville Hendrix, John Gottman, Sue Johnson, and the science of interpersonal neurobiology. Clinicians will be presented with a context in which to understand couples, which includes not only the basic theories of the above-noted modalities, but how to actually work with clients, utilizing specific techniques based on these theories.
Course Objectives:
- Through lecture, handouts and experiential components, participants will be exposed to four theoretical backgrounds for working with couples.
- Participants will learn specific research-based therapeutic interventions for working with couples.
- Participants will gain competency in specific therapeutic interventions through experiential work.
