Join Us for the Next Clean Waters Initiative on Using Watershed-based Plans to Improve Water Quality

Currently, more than 80 percent of stream miles within the Houston-Galveston region fail to meet state water quality standards or screening criteria for one or more parameters, with bacteria impairment being the most common.

State and local partners are working to address these issues using watershed-based plans.  But how do these plans get created? And do these plans ultimately improve water quality?

Join us for a Clean Waters Initiative workshop on Tuesday, September 26, from 2 to 4 PM at the Houston-Galveston Area Council, Conference Rooms B and C (second floor) to learn more about these plans and how they can help protect the region's waters.

Additional Workshop Information

Speakers from the H-GAC and Texas State Soil & Water Conservation Board will provide participants with greater understanding of the function and importance of watershed-based plans, as well as updates on their current planning and implementation efforts.

Following each presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and further delve into the topic area. For additional information or assistance, e-mail Kathy.Janhsen@h-gac.com or call 713-993-2423.
