Pitching Your Tech-Based Startup for Funding

*This will be a live online workshop via Zoom* 

Alan will cover the structure of the pitch deck:

  • Intro: define the company, business, service, or product in a single sentence
  • Team: identify a core group of talent that can execute on the next set of milestones.  

Include Advisors.

  • Opportunity: establish the need for your company’s solution.
  • Solution: demonstrate how you will solve the problem and validate your differentiation.
  • Competition: identify your competitors, validate your differentiator.
  • Business Model: explain how you will generate revenue, show what you’ve accomplished to date and make forecasts
  • The Ask: ask for the order outline what you need to make your business a success.

Alan Hulme-Lowe had a long career as a technology executive at 3M Company, responsible for new technology / product development and launch. Since retiring from 3M he has developed a significant experience in advising tech startups and currently is a board advisor to 4 companies at various stages of development. Alan has been a SCORE mentor for many years.

Cancellation Policy: 

If you need to cancel you must notify us via email 7 days prior to the workshop date. A confirmation of your cancellation will be sent once it is received. Calling the SCORE Fort Worth office is not acceptable for a cancellation notice. All no-shows or cancellations after 7 days will lose their paid workshop fees. 

All workshop fees must be paid in advance prior to workshop date. For security purposes we will not be able to accept payment for workshops at the door unless workshop is being held at James E. Guinn complex in Fort Worth, TX.  

CANCELLATION NOTICES MUST BE IN WRITING AND EMAILED TO: Jenny Day at ch.admin0120@scorevolunteer.org. Any other means of cancellation will not be accepted.
