GARDENING CLASSES
with Master Garden Educator
Ashly Tamayo

This season we will honor the traditions of our continent's Indigenous People as we acknowledge our partners in gardening: Mother Earth, the sun & rain, birds, butterflies & bees, understand their unique roles in the garden and learn how to weave them into our own food growing adventures.

FOR KIDS & FAMILIES

 Saturday, December 10 | 1:00-3:00
Our Winter Solstice Garden

We will learn about photosynthesis and the light needs of different plants along with identifying the plant parts we eat. We will understand why it's important to plant food at the right time of the year, depending on the part of it we eat, and why eating seasonally is so important to the cycles of nature.   We will harvest, taste and plant a new garden of leafy greens and herbs. Children 7-12 may attend alone and parents are encouraged to accompany their 5 & 6 year old children.)

FOR ADULTS

Saturday, December 10 | 10:00 - Noon
Get Started with Tomatoes
Winter Solstice marks the beginning of longer days and ushers in the time to prepare spring crops that need more light – like tomatoes. We get a jump start on spring in this Tomato Master Class. You will discover methods and techniques along with best varietals for our climate to ensure your best tomato crop ever!  Take a new seedling home for your own garden.
