Larry Noble, MD, FABM, IBCLC

Larry Noble is a neonatologist in New York City, at Elmhurst Hospital and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is  Protocol Chair of the Section on Breastfeeding of the AAP and an author of the AAP 2017 Policy Statement on Donor Human Milk for the High-Risk Infant. He serves as Education Chair and Chair of Protocol Translations for the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and is an Associate Editor for its Journal, Breastfeeding Medicine.  He was first author of the ABM 2018 Protocol #12, Transitioning the Breastfeeding Preterm Infant from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to Home and an author of the ABM 2017 Position Statement on Informal Breast Milk Sharing for the Term Healthy Infant. He is co-chair of the Bronx Breastfeeding Coalition, the New York State Breastfeeding Team, and a member of the Medical Boards of the New York Milk Bank and the New England Milk Bank. He is Associate Editor of the upcoming books Breastfeeding Medicine and the AAP/ACOG Breastfeeding Handbook for Physicians.

Kimarie Bugg DNP, FNP-BC, MPH, IBCLC

Kimarie Bugg is President and CEO of Reaching Our Sisters Everywhere (ROSE) a national non profit that seeks to address health disparities and inequities in breastfeeding with a focus on community based solutions..  Dr. Bugg, is a career perinatal and neonatal nurse. She spent nearly four decades working in the Atlanta Metropolitan area in mostly African American communities promoting perinatal health, breastfeeding, and community based impact solutions. She was the first African American IBCLC in the state of Georgia (1987).  A graduate of Central Texas College, Kennesaw State University, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Troy University, Dr. Bugg is a force to be reckoned with and a spirit to be comforted by. 

She is current chair of the ethics committee of United States Breastfeeding Committee. Kimarie is on the board of advisors for the National Association of Professional and Peer Lactation Supporters of Color (NAPPLSC).  In 2016, Kimarie received a Legacy Award from the United States Breastfeeding Committee for her work in the lactation arena for 38 years.

Panel Presentation 

This year we are pleased to have Strong Beginnings representatives participate in a panel presentation.  Strong Beginnings is a federal Healthy Start program created in 2004 to improve the health and well-being of African American and Latinx women, men, and their babies, from pregnancy through early childhood.  Strong Beginnings seeks to promote racial equity and eliminate disparities in birth outcomes between whites and people of color in Kent County.
