With an extensive background on management consulting, my skills in marketing, sales, strategic planning, general management and market research have assisted companies in many industries at all stages, sizes and geographic locations.

My background includes extensive marketing and general management experience with Procter & Gamble, Clorox Company and Frito-Lay. For 30 years I managed and grew my own marketing consulting firm serving a large clientele of major US companies.. I am a past National Chair of the Institute of Management Consultants and have served as an adjunct professor of marketing at Southern Methodist University.

I have been an active volunteer and leader at Temple Emanu-El in Dallas, serve on the board of LIFT -Literacy Instruction for Texas, serve on management advisory boards for three private companies and have done pro-bono consulting for multiple non-profit organizations.

This Workshop is aimed at getting you to understand what it takes to start a small business. We'll take a look at ....

  • The financial implications on both the business and you personally
  • Understanding what it'll take to assess the market
  • What your true business objectives are
  • Why you need to put a thorough business plan together

    This Workshop is taught by proven professionals who have been there and done that! All are existing SCORE Mentors who you can continue a relationship with should you elect to move forward.

    If you're thinking about starting a business someday then come to this Workshop and assess if you really have what it takes to start a small business.

    Cancellation Policy:

    If you need to cancel you must notify the originator of this email 48 hours prior to the day of the workshop. A confirmation of your cancellation will be sent once it is received. Calling the SCORE Dallas office or contacting the instructor(s), is not acceptable for a cancellation notice. 

    CANCELLATION NOTICES MUST BE IN WRITING AND EMAILED to Tammy Jo Covert at eventplanner.0022@scorevolunteer.org. Any other means of cancellation will be not be accepted. NOTE: This email is monitored Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, please keep this in mind when trying to contact us.

    If you do cancel, before the 48 hours, a refund will be issued to the credit card that was used during your registration. (Please allow 5-10 business days for your reimbursement to be issued). All individuals cancelling late or are a no-show will lose their fees paid.

    SCORE Dallas reserves the right to cancel a Workshop if there are less than ten (10) Registrants. If SCORE cancels a Workshop, you will be notified and issued a complete refund.
