2013 STEM Expo

The Center for Minorities in Science and Engineering (CMSE) will provide hands-on projects, demonstrations and activities in: Engineering, Forensic Science, Robotics, Software Programming, Environmental Science and more. Sessions will focus on college majors and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Participants have the chance to win prizes and meet with STEM professionals from local, state, government, and academic industries. The day will include a free lunch and entertainment.

Students (Grades 3-12):

  • Participate in a free day of exciting hands-on and interactive activities and demonstrations in engineering, forensic science, Robotics, physics, programming, environmental science and more!
  • LEARN about college majors and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
  • MEET future and current engineers, scientists, and STEM professors
  • BE INSPIRED by Dr. Jeanette Epps, NASA Astronaut and University of Maryland graduate, as she shares her journey from being a student, like you, to being an astronaut.

Parents:

  • Learn how to support and prepare your student for a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) career.
  • Learn about summer camps and programs in STEM and other opportunities at the University of Maryland and the metropolitan community. Enroll your student!
  • Learn from the experience of parents who now have students majoring in a STEM related career at the University of Maryland.
