The Sodus Bay Yacht Club is proud to be hosting LYRA 2020 on Great Sodus Bay,
July 26 - August 2, 2020. This will be the 12th time that SBYC has hosted LYRA since 1938.
We are excited to be welcoming Regatta participants and LYRA Officials to our club for this year’s event. We have planned an exciting week of racing and entertainment.
The week begins with the Founders Cup East, a race from the Oswego Yacht club to Sodus Bay on Sunday, July 26th. Next is the Centennial Cup, a race from the Youngstown Yacht Club to Rochester on Monday, July 27th. Then Founders Cup West, a race from Genesee Yacht Club to Sodus on Tuesday, July 28th. Then the long distance Freeman Cup race starts on Wednesday, July 29th. We wrap up the week with course racing on July 31st, August 1st and August 2nd.
From the opening ceremony to the closing ceremony, come share in the camaraderie among racers from around the lake. Enjoy live entertainment, Happy Hours, renew friendships, make new ones, and create memorable moments all right here on the Great Sodus Bay, often referred to as the Crown Jewel of Lake Ontario.
Make it a point to get to Sodus Point and enjoy racing, swimming, relaxing or visiting local sites such as the Sodus Bay Lighthouse Museum, Chimney Bluffs State Park, and historic Pultneyville. Take some time to tour the Lake Ontario Wine Trail or the Finger Lakes Wine Trail. We are about 40 minutes from Rochester, which offers the Memorial Art Gallery, George Eastman House, Strong Museum of Play, and many more sites to see.

Online registration will close on July 12th for race events and July 19th for food ordering. However, competitors may register and order on site at any of the starting venues.
