Come learn how your family's estate plan should work hand-in-hand with your business' succession plan. If you have your own business and wish to preserve its family-owned character, or intend to sell it entirely, after you pass away - careful planning can ensure that your business remains open, successful, and shielded from unexpected tax liabilities while the transition happens. However, a successful succession plan is only half of a fully comprehensive estate plan. Your family's estate plan needs to work in harmony with your business intentions in order to preserve family unity, fully explain the reasons WHY you made these decisions, and to (hopefully) prevent frustration and disharmony after you have passed away.
