DEALING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE

Join us on Wednesday, September 18th from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM for our monthly program and luncheon at the Horizon Convention Center. Lisa Dominisse, certified life coach and Director of Development Services for the City of Marion, will present Dealing with Difficult People. Cost is $15 before Friday, June 14th at 5:00 PM, or $25 after.

Lisa Dominisse is currently serving the City of Marion, Indiana, as Director of Development Services.  She is a certified life coach and provides coaching and consulting services to individuals and small businesses through Dominisse Consultancy.  Before hanging her independent shingle, Lisa was a Sr. Partner at Human Capital Initiative (HCI), an Atlanta based management consulting firm focused on “people powered solutions.”  Lisa joined HCI after serving as the Director of Human Resources at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte. 

Previously, Lisa served as the Executive Director of the Development Corporation of North Platte (DEVCO) doing local economic development projects throughout Lincoln County.  Prior to DEVCO, Lisa was the Director of Rural Development for the State of Nebraska under former Governor Mike Johanns.  As Director of Rural Development she shepherded a series of rural development legislative initiatives, managed the 38 member commission and fostered a series of small business development initiatives geared toward entrepreneurship and minority business owners.  Lisa was a resource for rural Nebraska communities and the individuals who were interested in growing their communities and individual businesses.

Prior to rural development, Lisa served as the Director of Program Services for the Department of Economic Development.  In this position she was Executive Director of the Nebraska Diplomats, Inc., legislative liaison for DED, human resources administrator, and special projects manager.  Lisa came to DED from her position as Director of the Governor’s Western Office in Scottsbluff under former Governor Mike Johanns. 

Before entering state government Lisa served as executive director of the Memorial Health Center Foundation in Sidney, Nebraska. 

Lisa has traveled the world spending time in Thailand, Cuba, Europe, Mexico and South America.  She brings a keen understanding of cultural dynamics and the importance of understanding and being intentional about the culture created within companies and communities.

Lisa’s undergraduate degree is in journalism with a major in advertising and minors in music, biology, and political science from the University of Nebraska--Lincoln.  She is also a graduate of the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma.  Lisa received a Master of Business Administration in 2006 from Bellevue University.  

Currently, Lisa teaches online classes for the Masters of Organizational Performance degree as an adjunct professor for Bellevue University through the College of Professional Studies.  She has previous classroom teaching experience in general business.

 Lisa is married with three children, ages 19, 16 and 7.
