2018 Waste Conference

May 23, 2018

A&WMA-LMSS’s full-day conference will be held at the Union League Club in downtown Chicago this year.  The conference is designed for everyone in the waste industry with a special emphasis on regulatory matters and how to implement innovative solutions and proven methodologies for working with waste.  You will learn of the latest information concerning waste management issues, including regulatory updates from Region 5 States. Prominent leaders from government, industry, law and consulting will provide attendees with information and insights on a wide range of waste topics while attendees will have an opportunity to network and meet with other professionals who share similar interests.

A networking reception for attendees, A&WMA members and guests will be held immediately following the conference. Companies that supply products and services for environmental management will have exhibits on display at the conference 

Key speakers for this year’s conference include:

 Adina Renee Adler, Senior Director for International Relations, The Institute for Scrap  Recycling Industries (ISRI) in Washington, DC.  ISRI is the “Voice of the Recycling Industry™” with 21 chapters representing 1,300 companies operating in nearly 4,000 locations in the U.S. and 34 countries worldwide. Adina represents the industry in international negotiations, speaks publicly about the benefits of trade to the scrap recycling industry and builds coalitions to advance common interests for recyclers.

Albert Kelly (Invited), Senior Advisor to U.S. EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt and lead for the agency's Superfund Task Force which was commissioned on May 22, 2017 and includes leaders from EPA's Office of Land and Emergency Management, Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance, Office of General Counsel, EPA Region 3 (as the lead region for the Superfund program), as well as other offices.  The mission of the Task Force is to streamline EPA's Superfund program.

Kevin Igli, Senior Vice President and Chief Environmental Officer of Tyson Foods, Inc.  Mr. Igli leads a team of more than 400 environmental professionals and oversees the company’s environmental compliance, regulatory affairs, and risk management processes in collaboration with all business operating units and enabling support functions (e.g., food safety and quality assurance, engineering, legal, finance, accounting, etc.).
