Conservation & Science Speaker Dinner
The African Painted Dog is an endangered species. The team at Painted Dog Research Trust (PDRT) has been working to save this important species for decades. Based at the Sizinda Conservation Ecology Center in Zimbabwe, there has been severe drought, which has severely impacted the population of Painted Dogs as well as local communities.
Recently, lightning struck one of the buildings at the Center and burned it to the ground. The profits from this fundraising dinner is to help PDRT recover and continue their important work.
PDRT works with local communities in Zimbabwe to remove snare wire used to kill wildlife, including painted dogs. To prevent the wire from ending up back in the hands of poachers, the snare wire is shaped into these artistic pieces. These will be available at the dinner. Every purchase helps support Painted Dogs and the communities working to protect them.
Come enjoy a catered meal, drinks and a special presentation by Dr. Greg Rasmussen, Executive Director of PDRT. Learn more about how Niabi's partnership with PRDT has expanded conservation education efforts and has connected children in the Quad Cities to those in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
