Introduction to International Education Compliance and Regulation

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

This workshop is ideal for: Front counter and student support staff from all sectors, staff new to international education, and experienced professionals wanting an update on the key international compliance requirements.

Education providers enrolling holders of Australian Student Visas have significant compliance obligations. This workshop will provide participants with a general overview of the key legislative and regulatory requirements affecting education providers.

The content is introductory with a focus on the roles of different regulators, the Education Services for Overseas Students Act (2000) and in particular the 11 Standards of Part D new ESOS National Code 2018.    


ABOUT THE PRESENTER:



Simon Davies Burrows - Manager, Internationalisation, Edith Cowan University  

Simon has worked in the education sector in Australia and overseas for 20 years. For the past 15 years he has worked in international education at Edith Cowan University in Perth.  Simon has overseen international admissions, compliance & quality assurance, student mobility, International relations and academic partnerships.

He has led international education discussions and industry improvements through the delivery of conference papers and workshops on International compliance, quality assurance and best practice to colleagues across all sectors. He is a Fellow of the International Education Association of Australia and  Vice President of the Council for International Students of Western Australia.
