This year's conference will center around the wonderful world of weather and the seaons of the year -- a popular early childhood topic and one rich with creative possibilities. This hands-on day includes activities for school, home, library and community settings designed to strengthen pre-literacy and literacy skills for children 2-8.

We'll do movement, music, drama and visual arts activities that are engaging, joyful and linked to the conference theme. We'll also focus on early literacy, displaying and discussing a variety of books related to the weather and the seasons.

Particular attention will be paid to meeting the needs of children with developmental and learning differences. Participants will take away sample lessons as well as a wealth of user-friendly ways to link the seasons - and the arts  to children's literature and learning.

Teaching artist presenters include Deborah Stuart, Will Cabell, Kelly Doremus Stuart and Richard Moses.

Presented by: The Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire and VSA New Hampshire as part of their ongoing Arts in Inclusive Learning collaboration, under a contract with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Our thanks to Preschool in the Village and Franconia Children's Center for hosting this winter's conferences.

Cost: $40, with reduced rates for Arts Alliance members and for teams from preschools, child care centers or other facilities. Partial scholarships are also available.
