Designed for K-6 classroom teachers, arts & SPED educators and para-educators, administrators, out-of-school providers and interested parents, this workshop will offer a look at the many ways the arts support progress in developing academic and  social skills for elementary school students with different learning needs.

Participants will have a chance to learn more about Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and about strategies, approaches and adaptive equipment which ensure success for all learners.

The highly interactive training will include an introduction to UDL, an overview of ways to include all students in any arts activities, plenty of time for discussion and peer sharing, and hands-on activities that will give participants the opportunity to put these techniques and ideas into practice and to try some “homemade” adaptive equipment.  We’ll also look at how UDL principles can be used to design classroom lessons in all subject areas.

There will be resource books, adaptive equipment and much information to allow participants to take away ideas which will work with their particular populations.

Please contact us if you need a scholarship.
This space is accessible for people in wheelchairs. If you require additional accommodations, please let us know by July 12.
