Domestic violence is a prominent issue on a global scale, but as a clinician how can we address the issue when it faces you in a counseling session, an emergency room or physician's office?
Clinicians seeing patients in various health care settings will face this issue at some point. It is our responsibility to be up-to-date on the most recent statistics and resources. With this knowledge we can incorporate support, and build more awareness around the severity of domestic violence. Since DV often presents practitioners with an ethical dilemma, Jay will talk about the ethical responsibilities regarding DV and help to reduce liability exposure.
