Welcome!

We are excited to offer you this special invitation to join other ABFE members from across the nation to take your professional development to the next level. Together we will learn and apply racial equity principles and leadership concepts as an intentional learning community.

LEADERSHIP COACHING FOR RACIAL EQUITY - LEVEL I:  LEARNING THE FUNDAMENTALS (3 Month Program)

Leadership Topics

During each session participants learn specific practices and tools to enhance their leadership presence while learning more about ABFE's Responsive Philanthropy in Black Communities Racial Equity framework. Each topic builds upon the other, as follows:

1. How to Be More Influential: Establish a Dynamic Leadership Presence

This session focuses on increasing your awareness and becoming a better observer of how your body  impacts how you "show up" (i.e. how others perceive you). 

2. How to Face Fear and Uncertainty: Build Courage, Sharpen Focus, Be Powerful

This session focuses on "leaning-in" and "setting intention", choosing language that supports bringing your best self to your everyday actions. 

3. How to Be Decisive: De-clutter Your Way to Clarity and Confident Decision-Making

This session focuses on choosing the emotional response to scenarios that best serves you in any situation.

Cohort I:  May 12, June 9, July 14

Cohort II:  October 13, November 10, December 8

LEADERSHIP COACHING FOR RACIAL EQUITY - LEVEL II: PRACTICING THE FUNDAMENTALS (6 Month Program)

Leadership Topics:

During each session participants learn specific practices and pick up tools for enhancing their leadership presence while simultaneously learning more about ABFE's Responsive Philanthropy in Black Communities Racial Equity framework.  Additionally, participants discuss specific challenges that they may be encountering while implementing the RPBC Framework.  All involved benefit from having access to multiple perspectives within the group as well as real-time experiences leading efforts within their organizations.

Coaching Cohort III Schedule:  June 30, July 28, August 25, September 29, October 27, November 17 and December 1

The ABFE Leadership Coaching Team

Marcus F. Walton is the chief operating officer for ABFE where he works to build and reinforce its infrastructure to execute the mission of promoting effective and responsive philanthropy in Black communities. A long-time student of leadership development and personal transformation, Marcus is co-founder of the Consortium of Coaches of Color, principal of the African American Coaching Agenda and serves as an ontological coach to further realize his personal empowerment objectives. Learn More

 

Brian Gadsden works as an Executive Leadership Coach and Non-­Profit Management Consultant. 

Brian has over fifteen years' experience in leadership positions in the public sector and extensive experience working where the public, private, and governmental sectors intersect.  His coaching practice focuses on helping individuals realize their own personal empowerment objectives.  His consulting practice is focused on capacity building and results. Learn More
