Marin Civic Center
Roof Renovation

With Scott Tyson, CSI/CDT - Sika Corporation

Join CSI East Bay-Oakland Chapter for our March chapter meeting, featuring a presentation from Scott Tyson of Sika Corporation: "Marin Civic Center Roof Renovation".

Mr. Tyson will be presenting information on Liquid Applied Membrane Systems and their role in the re-roofing of the historic Marin Civic Center in San Rafael. These membrane systems offer a solution for projects with complex waterproofing problems, where conventional roofing solutions may not be sufficient. The Civic Center roof had long been a problem area of the building, with many leaks in the rainy season. It took a team of experts to fix the roof in a multi-million dollar renovation project. Join us to hear Mr. Tyson talk about how the project was accomplished!

The Marin County Civic Center, with its iconic blue roof,  was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and completed in 1962. Besides providing a venue for the Marin County Government and community, the Civic Center has also been named to the National Register of Historical Places by the US Government.
