BUILDING CODES - AN ABRIDGED HISTORY

With Lonnie Haughton, Principal Code Consultant with Avelar Architects

You're invited to join CSI East Bay-Oakland for a fascinating look at the history of building codes, presented by ICC-certified Master Code Professional Lonnie Haughton.

From the post-World War II “home rule” code battles to the strident circa-2000 eruptions of long-simmering jurisdictional conflicts between the State’s building officials and fire chiefs, this presentation explores these bureaucratic clashes from various viewpoints in order to better understand the historical foundations and development of our modern construction codes. Mr. Haughton will also present changes in the new codes to become effective January 2020.
