Free Workshop: Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) Funds

Friday, February 18, 2022

Terre Haute area businesses can take part in a free workshop on Friday, Feb. 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern time to learn more about how to successfully vie for federal funds that can help their company grow and compete.

The Indiana Procurement and Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), IN3 (Indiana Innovation Institute) and NavalX Midwest Tech Bridge are providing hands-on assistance to qualifying small businesses. The session will offer guidance on how to take advantage of the federal Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) programs.

The Terre Haute program will take place at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the Mussallem Union’s Lake Room (MU171). The Union is located at 5500 Wabash Ave., and a campus map that shows available parking areas is available here. Please note that Rose-Hulman requires face coverings while inside its campus facilities.

This will be an in-person event, but there will be an option for those who prefer to attend virtually. Those signing up for the virtual option will receive a link after they register.

The SBIR and STTR programs both offer qualifying small businesses federal funding opportunities with the goals of stimulating technological innovation, engaging small businesses to meet federal research and development needs, fostering and encouraging participation in innovation and entrepreneurship by socially and economically disadvantaged small businesses, and increasing private sector commercialization of innovations derived from federal R&D funding.
