setting an intention to connect in the service of compassionate giving & receiving.  Some strategies to support the Zero Point are:
    •    Attend to your own resourcefulness and care for self
    •    Connect to what is most important to you
    •    Open to the willingness to be vulnerable
    •    Connect to care other and a willingness to listen to and discover what is important to the other
    •    Consider what you are grateful for in this relationship

1. Inviting:

opening a dialogue to increase chances of connecting in the way you want
    •    Consider the Field:  Do conditions support connection?
    •    Consider sharing a gratitude relevant to the relationship
    •    Share brief vulnerability of your feelings and needs
    •    Make observations, rather than evaluations of right or wrong, good or bad
    •    Focus on the Present for connection
    •    End on a request that could invites connection

2. Self-Empathy:

noticing and recovering from your own reactivity, for example:
    •    Notice tension or resistance
    •    Give yourself permission to be feeling what you feel
    •    Extend this permission of humanness to others
    •    Re-Source (e.g. Gratitude, Amusement, Love)
    •    Choose again

3. Vulnerable Honesty:

expressing the deepest connection to your observations, feelings, needs and requests that you are willing to share

4. Empathy:

acknowledging what is alive in the other to support understanding
For example:  "So, for you..."
Reflect feelings, needs, observations, requests, wishes rather than judgements

5. Confirmation Request:

determining if you have expressed clearly and are understood
For example:  "Was I clear?  What did you hear is important to me?"

6. Feedback Request:

inviting other to share what is important to them
For example:  "How are you right now?"

7. Gratitude:

acknowledging gratitude to support safety, trust, and resilience - "Thank you!"

8. Action Request:

offering a next step to address needs identified
    •    Stated in the Positive (what you do want, rather than what you don’t want)
    •    Needs-based (everyone’s needs matter)
    •    Open to outcome  (a proposal vs a demand)
    •    Concrete/Specific  (clarity of action to be taken vs a vague wish)
    •    Present, actionable with at least one step now, eg “How do you feel about this?”
