John Sperry, Ph.D.


Dr. Jon Sperry, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Lynn University and is also a staff therapist at the Counseling and Psychological Services at Florida Atlantic University. He is currently the co-editor of the Journal of Individual Psychology (JIP). He has co-authored six psychotherapy textbooks and has given lectures in 22 different countries.

Self-Care for Practitioners 

In the wake of a pandemic, practitioners have all been confronted with significant changes and obstacles in their personal and professional lives.

This workshop is designed to help practitioners manage stress and increase well-being through several activities, self-assessments, and discussions.  

Self-care is about taking care of your mind and body by actively taking steps to enhance personal well-being. Self-care can promote resilience, improve stress management, and enhance your work/life balance. 

 Learning objectives:

  • Apply and learn about the science of active self-care and coping
  • Evaluate personal well-being and self-care strategies
  • Identify obstacles and challenges that lead to passive self-care
  • Develop a list of new and realistic self-care strategies

Cost: $30 (including 1.5 CEUs)

Workshop Cancellation and Refund Policy: 

  • All cancellations must be made at least 10 days prior to the scheduled workshop. Registered participants who provide proper notice (10 days or more) will be credited, minus a 25% workshop fee. For registered participants who cancel less than 10 days prior to the workshops, credit towards a future workshop will be provided. This credit must be used within 1 year of the original workshop date (no cash refunds). The registered participant may invite another person to substitute their place in the workshop (in which they are registered) at any time at no charge.
