Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division Training: Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills 

Content: Participants will learn skills to make a difference with individuals and families who are vulnerable to the negative effects of tobacco use. Participants will also learn, with practical applications, evidence-based interventions based on an integrated Five A Model to help people abstain from using tobacco.

Facilitator: Debbie Apolo, CTTS, is nationally certified as a Master Trainer for the American Lung Association’s “Freedom from Smoking” and certified as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist.  She has dedicated 27 years of service in the organization and is responsible for providing tobacco prevention and cessation. Her extensive experience includes program planning, marketing, and conducting trainings for children, teens, and adults.

Target Audience: Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) and Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) applicants, those with other ADAD professional credential, and others involved in the human services field.
