Join Andrew L. Egel, Ph.D. for a discussion of the importance of understanding the function of behavior in order to develop effective strategies. Dr. Egel will spend time discussing some of the behaviors that can interfere with virtual learning and strategies for preventing them.
Dr. Egel has extensive experience with children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. He was a Professor of Counseling, Higher Education, and Special Education at the University of Maryland for 36 years and was the Director of Autism Services at Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services. Dr. Egel is an expert in developing, implementing, and evaluating innovative instructional methodologies for use with children with an ASD by teachers, related service personnel and families. Dr. Egel consults with school districts and families locally and across the Country on methods for providing evidence-based educational supports for children with ASD.
