Illuminating the World, Befriending the Mind
Mindfulness and the Path of Practice

Meditation Retreat with
Margo McLoughlin

A dedicated practice of mindfulness sharpens perception while also softening the heart. In this weekend retreat, we will deepen our understanding of mindful awareness through a careful examination of the first two factors of awakening - mindfulness (sati) and investigation (dhamma-vicaya). At the same time, we will review the foundations of practice and explore the importance of friendliness (metta) as we learn to befriend our own minds.

Margo McLoughlin has been practicing in the Insight tradition of Theravada Buddhism since 1986. Margo is known for her telling of Jataka tales and in leading meditation retreats and courses on Vancouver Island, the US and Ireland. A former staff member at Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts and a graduate of the Harvard Divinity School, Margo has also completed her training to be a Community Dharma Leader through Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, California. Her teachers include Joseph Goldstein, Carol Wilson, Thanissara, Eugene Cash and Steve Armstrong.  For more information about Margo, please visit her website at  www.margostoryteller.net
