Ordained, licensed, and commissioned clergy as well as in care students (members in discernment) from all around the Illinois Conference are invited to attend the Illinois Conference Clergy Day Away at Pilgrim Park in Princeton, Illinois.

Being spiritual leaders doesn't mean that our spiritual lives are as we'd like.  We've all likely journeyed through spiritual lives that are lacking, suffering, or simply in the pits.  Acknowledging that we spend too much time in the spiritual doldrums opens us up to the Spirit's work.

You're invited to a time of rest, refreshment, rejuvenation, and spiritual awakening at Clergy Day Away 2013.

“The knowledge and remembrance of past times when I was in the pits and God was what my tomorrow needed encourages me each day.  I want to share with others the good news, welcome, and hope of the still speaking God who will be what our tomorrows demand,” remarks David Schoen, one of the leaders for this year's Clergy Day Away.  Vertie Powers acknowledges the hope that can be found, even in seasons that have us feeling as if we are in a miry pit. "The times I have been in the pit I have looked to God for God to show God's good hope; the hope that is storm resistant and suffering repellent; the good hope that endures difficulties and outlasts disappointment; the good hope that is passion filled and purposely driven. The good hope that says there is a balm in Gilead, to save the sin sick soul."

Vertie and David will lead us on a day away journey that offers vibrant worship, social time, journaling, photography, mind and body exercise, labyrinth walking, or perhaps just an opportunity to rest, relax, and be refreshed.

Registration includes dinner, breakfast, snack, lunch and the program.  Overnight accommodations are available at an additional expense.
