It often seems like some of us were natural born communicators in public settings. And, then, there is the rest of us. We practice. We observe those we consider professionals. We buy new shoes that make us feel more confident. Still, many of us wish we could speak in front of a group with presidential grace and a professional comic's humor. However, that is a lot of pressure. Lets chat about incorporating authenticity in our public speaking opportunities generating confidence and successful outcomes.
Speaker: Christy Mauch
Christy Mauch is Vice President of Operations with your BBB of Dayton/Miami Valley and instructs a public speaking course at Sinclair Community College. Christy has been with your BBB for 18 years managing programs related to consumer education, nonprofit public accountability, ethics in advertising, dispute resolution, marketplace self-regulation, customer service, and data quality. Having grown up in the Dayton area, Christy enjoys engaging in local initiatives that further promote integrity in the marketplace. She is currently Chair for Wright State University’s Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Community Council and serves on the American Advertising Federation-Dayton Board of Directors. As animal welfare is also a personal passion, she serves as Secretary on the Board of Trustees with the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. She recently had the honor of instructing a Nonprofit Administration course at Wright State University. In addition, Christy is one of the 2014 Dayton Business Journal 40 Under 40 award recipients and a 2010 graduate of Leadership Dayton. Christy holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in communications from Bowling Green State University and the University of Dayton.
