Foothills Landscape Collaboration Workshop - Jan 31 & Feb 1, Dahlonega 

Join us for the first of four collaboration workshops focused on developing a plan that will be used to create a proposed action for the Foothills Landscape. This is a great opportunity to share your views, discuss ideas, and interact with other members of the collaboration community and Forest Service employees -- a time to roll up our sleeves and really get down to work.

The first workshop will be held on January 31 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and on February 1 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Lumpkin County Parks and Rec Community Center located at 365 Riley Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533. 

Because we value and respect your time, we are working to structure the workshop so that the two days build upon one another but are independent. So if you attend one and not the other, your contribution will be meaningful and add value to the project. This also gives the option of attending the workshop during the day or evening (or both), depending on your work/life schedules.

In the morning on January 31st, we will kick off the meeting by creating a collective vision for the process we will use to develop the proposed action collaboratively. We will outline expectations, roles, meeting norms and how we will define success. We will then review what we heard in the Community Conversations and use it as a starting point. After lunch, you should expect discussion on the interpretation of the desired condition for the Foothills Landscape as outlined in the Forest Plan. We will finish the day off outlining what we know about the existing condition of the landscape and what information needs to be gathered by the Collaborative Community. On February 1st we will review the previous day’s work and continue the discussion on the difference between what we want to we want to see on the landscape and what is currently there.
