The US SAILING Umpire Committee is pleased to announce the scheduling of the Advanced Umpire Seminar at Oakcliff Sailing.
This seminar is a review of the Test Rules for Match Racing that have been announced by World Sailing and will be adapted for most US match racing events in 2016; Appendix Q (Fleet Race Umpiring); Rule 42; and a discussion of topics identified by participants in the program. This is intended as a continuing education opportunity for anyone who is interested but will qualify for certification credit only for people who are currently certified umpires.
This sanctioned seminar will include the test required for re-certification as a US SAILING Umpire. Complete information, about the US SAILING umpire program, including certification requirements can be found here:

Participants at the seminar will be required to bring the current Racing Rules of Sailing, and a copy of the appropriate ISAF Call Book. Call books (Team racing and Match Racing) can be purchased here: bit.ly/djpiaW
The seminar will begin at 0800 and last until 1700. The instructors for this workshop will be Bruce Cook. Bruce is an World Sailing International Umpire and Judge; and a US SAILING Umpire and National Judge. Registration is $75 for US SAILING members and includes snacks and lunch.
Assessments will be available at Oakcliff events thoughout the year with prior arrangements.
