Toronto Heart Valve Symposium 2019 

The advances in assessment and treatment of valvular disease continues to evolve rapidly in recent years. Non-invasive evaluation, transcatheter therapies and surgical techniques are undergoing progressive change. This symposium is aimed at providing surgeons and cardiologists working in the field with the latest updates in each of these areas.

Learning Objectives:

Session 1:

1. To recall recent randomized trials for MR.         

2. To explain the updates on TMVR development.

Session 2:

1. To apply evolving concepts in TAVR.  

2. To explain management of AV disease: young patients and those with AVR failure.

Plenary:

 To examine surgical management of HF

Session 3:

1. To recognize the natural history of tricuspid regurgitation and impact on clinical outcomes

2. To define advances in imaging and intervention for TR.
