Virginia Business Opportunity Fair 2013


In this Global economy we live in, supplier diversity sometimes seems so far beyond our reach; however, the Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council has a fast track connector for minority businessses in the Commonwealth.  Join us for a brand new Virginia Business Opportunity Fair that will span four regions in 2013. It promises to be content-rich, a host of national speakers with local interest, and access to buyers & purchasing representatives for the best matchmaking on the East Coast.

Dan F. Sturdivant II - U. S. Department of Homeland Security

Dan Sturdivant serves as the Assistant Director for Outreach and Service Disabled Veteren Owned Business Coordinator, OSDBU, U. S. Department of Homeland Security.  As such he is responsible for policy, strategic planning, outreach and development and oversight of DHS's small business programs (including minority women-owned, veterens and HubZone firms).  Mr. Sturdivant is responsible for activities and program implementation, DHS-wide, which increases opportunities for the small business community nationwide.

Sandra Broadnax - National Geospatial Intelligence Agency

Sandra Broadnax serves as the the Director for the Small Business Programs Office as Director, Ms. Broadnax is responsible for promoting the use of small, small disadvantaged, HUBZone, women-owned (small) service disabled veteren owned businesses, historically black colleges/universities and minority institutions with NGA.  Additionally, she is part of the acquisition planning to ensure small businessses are provided an equitable opportunity for prime and subcontracting efforts and heavily involved in market research.

Tracey L. Pinson - Office of the Secretary of the Army

Tracey L. Pinson serves as the Director for the Office of Small Business Programs.  Ms. Pinson advises the Secretary of the Army and the Army Staff on all Issues realtive tot utilization of small businesses in the performance of Army contracts.  She is responsible for the management and leadership of the Department of Army small business program valued at over $20 billion per year.  She provides management and oversight for the Army mentoring program for small businesses.  She occupies a critical acquistion position and is the highest ranking female in the Army acquistion career field.

Mark Cartwright - Director of Supplier Diversity Commonwealth of Virginia

Mark Cartwright is a gubenotrial appointee of Virginia Governor Robert McDonnell to the post of Director of Supplier Diversity for the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Mr. Cartwright oversees Governor McDonnell's efforts to increase spending with small minority and women-owned businesses across 171 state agencies.  Mark has a mandate to achieve results by influencing state agencies, legislators, buyers, vendors and prime contractors in ways to develop, implement and maintain supplier diversity strategies and objectives.
