Tuesday, April 4

The BCWI is participating in Canada Media Marketplace (CMM) 2017, April 3 – 4. Produced annually by the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), CMM brings together the best Canadian tourism partners from across the country with top US media in print, social media, photography and digital platforms. This is an opportunity to pour during the CMM closing ceremony on Tuesday, April 4 at the Grand Hyatt New York, celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday (approx. 340 media and partners).

James Beard House Media & Trade Lunch and Consumer Dinner

Wednesday, April 5

To maximize the exposure for Wines of British Columbia while in the market we have partnered with Chef Ned Bell to present a BC VQA Wine and seafood celebration at James Beard House

The James Beard Foundation offers a variety of events designed to educate, inspire, entertain, and foster an appreciation of American cuisine. Events held daily produce multi-course meals, complemented by wine pairings, prepared by guest chefs from around the world. This is an extremely prestigious venue and we are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to our members that are currently in the US market.

Hosted and led by the BCWI and Kurtis Kolt, the main event is a lunch targeting key New York wine, food, lifestyle and travel media and trade, followed by dinner for consumers, wine enthusiasts and James Beard House members.

Wineries are invited to participate in both the lunch and dinner at James Beard House. Featured wineries will be exposure to highly regarded trade and media in this market while being poured at one of the most prominent venues in New York. During the key lunch event, wineries will have the opportunity to present their wine and winery story when the pairing is served.

BC VQA Wine Trade & Media Tasting at Terroir Tribeca Wine Bar

Thursday, April 6

A BCWI wine trade and media tasting focused on BC VQA Wine with light canapés. Set in the afternoon at a hip, cool millennial wine bar to connect with the young trend makers in the wine trade set.

Hosted and led by the BCWI and Kurtis Kolt, the invite list will target wine trade, sommeliers, buyers, top wine servers and wine media.

If your wine is selected for the above opportunities, you will need to provide the following amount of wine to be poured at each event:

James Beard Foundation (160 guests): Two cases of wine (one for lunch and one for dinner)
BC VQA Wine Trade Tasting (60 guests): One case of wine (to showcase variety of 2-3 wines)

You will also have the opportunity to attend and present your wine at all of these events.
