The event will provide an opportunity to hear our new Superintendent Antwan Wilson share his vision for postsecondary success and linked learning—with the goal of connecting every student with meaningful work experience while still in high school. There will also be an informational presentation on Measure N: 2014 College and Career Readiness Act and how it fits with the Superintendent's vision for OUSD high schools. Hear how we can all play a role in ensuring all of our students are successful. Please join us for this exciting event to welcome Dr. Wilson to Oakland.
The Oakland Education Cabinet (OEC) is a coalition of stakeholders from the City of Oakland with a vested interest in developing citywide solutions for educational issues that threaten the growth of young people and the prospects for this region. Formed in 1997, the OEC is a partnership between the City of Oakland, the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD), and the Mills College with several committees organized into key initiatives. As co-chairs of the OEC we invite you to join us for this event.
The convening will take place at Oakland City Hall in the City Council Chambers from 8:00-9:00 am on September 24, 2014. Please RSVP by clicking the blue "Register Now!" button above.. We look forward to sharing with you Superintendent Wilson’s vision for building meaningful opportunities for Oakland youth.
Sincerely,
