New York State Domestic Violence
Prevention Summit 2015



Please join NYSCADV on Tuesday, December 8th, as we explore effective approaches to preventing intimate partner violence before it begins. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about innovative community-based prevention strategies that are underway at the local, state and national level. Presentations and discussion led by national and state level experts will include: strategies for effective social marketing campaigns, as well as working with college campuses, schools and workplaces.

NYSCADV is pleased to announce that the following presenters will be joining us at the New York State Domestic Violence Prevention Summit 2015.

Rebecca Cline Rebecca Cline, LISW-S, ACSW is the 2014 Ohio Chapter NASW Lifetime Achievement Award recipient and Prevention Programs Director for the Ohio Domestic Violence Network (ODVN).   Ms. Cline oversees the activities of ODVN's Prevention Team and provides training and technical assistance about domestic and family violence prevention to Ohio communities.  Cline's background includes domestic violence shelter work, domestic violence related healthcare training and community education, community organizing and coalition building.  She is a skilled facilitator, collaborator, and leader.  

Patrick McGann, Ph.D. is Director of Strategy & Planning for Men Can Stop Rape (MCSR), Since 2006, Dr. McGann has overseen Strength Media, which houses MCSR's groundbreaking social marketing campaign work. He oversaw the creation of MCSR’s Where Do You Stand? campaign, widely recognized as the nation's best-designed and most effective bystander intervention social marketing campaign targeting college age young men for sexual assault prevention. Statewide launches of Where Do You Stand? have happened in Connecticut, North Dakota, and Pennsylvania, and hundreds of organizations and universities have used Where Do You Stand? materials to reach young men with positive messages.

 

Liz Cascone, MSW, is the Advocacy Manager at the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance. In her current role she coordinates programming and advocacy efforts related to primary prevention, evaluation, data collection, and resource development. Liz has extensive experience in sexual and intimate partner violence primary prevention planning and program development. This experience is rooted in sound public health and social justice principles. Liz has experience developing prevention campaigns and strategies, such as The Red Flag Campaign and DO YOU Campaign, and using social marketing techniques to reach various audiences. Previously, Lizworked at the local level for six years.  She began her work doing community education in rural Virginia for a sexual and domestic violence program and after 3 years held the position of Program Director.  Liz received her Masters of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2000. 


KC Wagner is the Director of Workplace Issues at Cornell University's ILR Metro District Office in New York City. She has specialized in the prevention of sexual harassment, gender bias, bullying and promoting inclusiveness in the workplace for over 30 years. Ms. Wagner has provided training to corporations, unions, non-profit, educational and government organizations in diverse industries, professions and workplace settings.

Eva Dolgin, LMSW, is the Director of Community Education and Prevention Programs at My Sisters’ Place, Westchester County’s premiere resource and cutting edge leader in the field of Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking advocacy, shelter, legal services, and education and prevention.  At My Sisters’ Place, Eva supervises all volunteering, training, education, and prevention programs and provides an array of training and educational programs, which include the Domestic Violence Education and Prevention Program for youth and adolescents, the Operation Safety medical providers training program, trainings provided to professionals and community members, and the Sister-In-Law volunteer accompaniment program.  Prior to joining My Sisters’ Place, Eva worked as the LGBTQ Coordinator and Advocate at Victims Assistance Services, a Component of WestCOP and at The Center for Safety & Change (formerly Rockland Family Shelter), where she provided direct services to victims of crime by providing advocacy, counseling and therapy, and specialized LGBTQ services and trainings.  In addition, Eva is a fiercely committed to helping to create safe and empowering spaces for LGBTQ and allied youth and young adults.  She is a facilitator of TRUST, a weekly psycho-educational support group for LGBTQ and allied adolescents ages 13-18, run by CANDLE, Inc. in Rockland County.  She was also a lead facilitator and planner for Queer Spirit Camp, a week-long empowerment retreat for LGBTQ and allied 18-24 year olds, hosted by Easton Mountain.

Parking will be available in the hotel garage at the daily rate of $8.00 for those attending the event.  *Make sure to obtain a parking sticker from NYSCADV staff at the event.

Food will NOT be provided during this event. Please tend to your food needs before you arrive. Attendees will be provided a one hour lunch break. There are a number of easily accessible food options in and near the location.
