Regardless of the business size and services, the challenges you face as a business owner include protecting your personal and business assets, establishing the reputation and credibility of your business entity, and understanding the tax implications of different forms of incorporation.
Among the decisions you will have to make, determining the structure of your business entity is one of the most critical. For example, should you remain a sole proprietor, where your business and personal assets are co-mingled, or should you incorporate?This informative workshop will begin by explaining the benefits of incorporating a small business. You will then learn the types of business entities available to small business owners and the advantages and disadvantages of each. This information willl help you determine the right corporate entity choice for your business enterprise. As a workshop participant, you will be also equipped with the tools you will need to take the steps to form your business either as a Corporation or Limited Liability Company (LLC). Additionally, you will know the post-incorporation steps that will help you understand compliance requirements so that your business will be positioned for growth and sustainability.

Chantal Towles has 26 years’ experience in the incorporation and business formation services industry. During this time, she has lent her expertise to entrepreneurs, small to mid-sized corporations and law firms. She is President of Creative Business Assistants, which offers incorporation services and specializes in the formation of corporations, limited liability companies (LLCs), non-profit corporations, and virtual legal support services nationally to law firms. As a subject matter expert, she has served as a contributing author on business-related topics.
Chantel's passion is helping people, and she volunteers as a Business Strategy Coach for entrepreneurial students enrolled in the YWCA WAND program [Wo(men) Achieving New Directions] and Mind Your Business program. In this role, she also educates on the Incorporation Business Start-Up Process. In addition, Chantel volunteers her time to the Delaware Library System Inspiration Space and its Business Assistance Program.
Chantal is the immediate past President of the Delaware Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). She is a proud graduate of Delaware State University, where she received a degree in journalism. She also received an MBA from Wilmington University.
