March with the LWVSPA in the MLK Day Parade!

Thank you for celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by marching with the League of Women Voters in St. Petersburg’s 34th annual MLK Dream Big Parade, the nation’s longest-running parade honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.!

The parade takes place Monday, Jan. 20 in downtown St. Petersburg.  We'd like as many marchers as possible to join us for this historic event. What a perfect way to kick off the League’s 100th year!

Marchers will meet at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Station House, located at 260 1st Ave. S in St. Petersburg for instructions and to pick up signage. Then we’ll move on to our spot in the parade lineup. The parade steps off at 11 a.m.

NOTE: Nearby vehicle access and parking will be cut off after 9:30 due to street closures. Consider carpooling or ride sharing if possible, and allow extra time to park and walk to the meeting point.

The parade route is 1.5 miles long, and involves a lot of time on your feet, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothes that are appropriate for the weather. We suggest you bring a hands-free bag that contains water, snacks and other basic needs.

The deadline to register to march with us is Thursday, Jan 16, 2020.
