New England Stormwater Workshop 

Rinker Materials and the Rhode Island Builders Association (RIBA) invite you to attend a complimentary New England Stormwater Workshop.

RI DEM Stormwater Updates and Initiatives

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RI DEM) continues to move forward in setting the bar for stormwater quality standards and programs. In 2015/2016, the RI DEM established a Technology Review Team and embarked on an Alternative Stormwater Technology Certification process. Alisa Richardson will give an update on the state of the current programs and Department initiatives.

Stormwater Management in the Rhode Island Coastal Zone

Rhode Island has over 400 miles of coastline and over 30 islands in Narragansett Bay. James Boyd will discuss the effects of climate change in the Rhode Island Coastal Zone and the implementation of stormwater regulations in the Coastal Resource Management Programs.

Site and Drainage Improvements at Brown University’s Erickson Athletic Complex

The Project in Providence, RI included a new Aquatic and Fitness Center, field upgrades, and numerous site improvements.  Hernan Peralta will discuss the stormwater design aspect of the project from permitting to construction and identify the challenges, key steps for successful project permitting, and lessons learned.

 Designing and Permitting with Stormwater Treatment Technology

Designing drainage systems to meet current stormwater treatment standards can be challenging. In 2016, the Stormceptor Stormwater Treatment System became the first hydrodynamic separator technology to become certified under RI DEM’s new program. John Czach will discuss how designing with technology can help simplify design, compliment green infrastructure, and keep your project on track thought the permitting process.
