Join us to celebrate National Seniors' Day by discussing the topic of Caregiving with researchers, policy makers, employers, and community/continuing care providers.

Agenda: 

9:00 - 9:15 am: Coffee & registration 

9:15 - 9:20 am: Introductions/Opening - Sandra Woodhead Lyons

9:20 - 9:30 am: Overview of RAPP & ICCER - Janet Fast & Sandra Woodhead Lyons

9:30 - 10:30 am: Panel Presentations

Participants will be invited to jot-down thoughts & discussion topics on sticky notes to share with the group after the panel presentations.

  • Anna Mann, Executive Director, Alberta Caregivers Association.  Anna will speak about her organization's need for evidence to support both their advocacy work and their education work with caregivers. 
  • Laura Forsyth, Manager, Seniors' Policy Unit, Alberta Seniors.  Laura will present current and future supports for caregiving in Alberta. 
  • Janet Fast, Professor, Department of Human Ecology, University of Alberta.  Janet will share her recent research on the impact of caregiving in the workplace, including from the employer's perspective.
