11th Annual Buddy Walk® of the Berkshires 

Hosted by Berkshire County Arc and the Berkshire County Arc Down Syndrome Family Group, this one mile walk starts and ends at Craneville Elementary School where there will be a family picnic, a raffle, live music and other fun activities.

**The Walk will be held rain or shine!

NOTE: Even though the deadline has passed for securing the Buddy Walk t-shirts… don’t worry!   We will have some extra t-shirts at the Buddy Walk that will be available for donations on a first come, first serve basis.  We are still taking registrations online and you can also register at the Buddy Walk. 

About the BCArc Down Syndrome Family Group

The BCArc Down Syndrome Family Group was founded in 2006 and aims to support people with Down syndrome by fundraising, educating, building natural supports and having fun!  To reach these goals, the group meets on a monthly basis and holds awareness events such as the Buddy Walk® of the Berkshires and Sprout Film Festival.  The group also sponsors speakers to educate the community about topics related to Down syndrome.

The group’s strongest asset to the  community is the natural supports and bonds that are created between families who have a child or an adult with Down syndrome.  Social opportunities give families a chance to include siblings and extended family members in their support network.  Family events include everything from pizza picnics to bowling parties!

Organize a team (family, co-workers, friends) to support Down syndrome awareness and the Buddy Walk ®.

Together you can raise money and participate in the Walk. 

Sponsorship Opportunities

A goal of the Buddy Walk®  of the Berkshires, along with public awareness and acceptance of people with Down Syndrome, is to help raise money.  Funds from the event will directly benefit people living in Berkshire County providing social opportunities for individuals and families, special therapies not covered by other insurance, community activities for children with disabilities, Down Syndrome awareness events, conference sponsorships and scholarships, and ongoing research in the area of Down Syndrome. 

Businesses, organizations, walk teams, and members of the community can sponsor the Buddy Walk®  of the Berkshires:

Contributing Sponsor $500

Supporting Sponsor $250

• Contributing ($500+) and Supporting ($250+) sponsors will be added to the Buddy Walk ® t-shirt!  
• Any team raising a minimum of ($250) will be considered a Supporting Sponsor
• Contributing Sponsorship logos will be featured on the online registration form and website.
• Contributing and Supporting sponsors will also have banners displayed the day of the event, and will be included in all press releases and publicity.
• Sponsorship logos must be received by August 31, 2017 for banner printing and t-shirts.

Monetary donations, no matter how large or small, are appreciated.  In kind donations are also encouraged! These donations can be in the form of raffle prizes, services needed for the event, food, etc.  In kind donations will have the same benefits as sponsors based on the value of the donation.
