There are many significant challenges in error free real time video streaming over the public internet. Ciro Noronha Ph.D, Cobalt’s Director of Compression Technology will discuss these challenges and compare two typical error recovery technologies: Forward ErrorCorrection (FEC) and Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ).
Ciro has had appointments as a Consulting Associate Professor at Stanford University and his areas of expertise include MPEG (including MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and H.264), DVB, satellite, digital cable, and networking technologies in general.
His previous roles have been Director of Software at SkyStream Networks, Director of Software at Tandberg, Vice President of Engineering at Tandberg/Ericsson, and most recently co-founder and VP of engineering at ImmediaTV.
